Has anyone stayed there and what are your comments? How does it compare to other Regency's like PHX, SFO, CGN or Mainz/Germany?

Thanks!

Convenient, central downtown location. Rooms OK, building is ugly. Not anything like SFO and certainly not anywhere near Mainz standards (Mainz is one of my favorites). Canadian Pacific (now Fairmont) has much more character. My 2 cents.

CP still exists and has 2 hotels in the city of Vancouver proper: the venerable Chateau Vancouver and the new and modern CP Waterfront.

The Fairmont is a 67%-owned chain. They built/operate the YVR airport hotel through the Fairmont holding/brand. They seem to have folded everything in Fairmont possibly for US brand recognition?

That said, the Hyatt Vancouver is o.k. Nothing spectacular.
