Middle East - Help booking round trip airfare to Israel!

Hello,

I am flying into Tel Aviv for a wedding in August with my girlfriend and would appreciate any help with booking cheap flights.

We would ideally like to fly out of SFO in San Francisco.

The mother of the groom has negotiated discount flights out of JFK in New York for the dates of August 14th to 21st.

We would like to extend out trip however from the 14th to 31st.

She is able to do this for us, however there may be additional costs, which we are waiting to find out. Prices fluctuate daily so we're not sure what it'll cost until we book.

The rates that she has quoted us do not seem particularly special to me though. The price for a round-trip ticket is $1122 for Aug 14 - 21 out of JFK.

We would need to fly from SFO to JFK which is a hassle and extra expense (at least $250 added to the cost).

For the cost and convenience, we would rather fly dfirect out of SFO or a nearby airport in California. We'd be willing to leave from JFK if prices were significantly less, but we'd prefer not to.

Are there any travel agents on the forum who might be able to help?

Thanks so much!!

Oliver

If by direct you mean non-stop, there is no such service to Israel from SFO. El Al is the only carrier that flies non-stop from the west coast (LAX) to TLV.

There may be direct service, i.e., same flight number albeit with at least one stop and possibly a change of plane, on other airlines.

US airlines serving TLV are Delta from JFK, United from Newark and US Airways from PHL.

Other connection possibilities are British Airways, Lufthansa, Air France, KLM and other European carriers serving SFO.

We've actually decided to spend the weekend in New York anyways, and since there are direct flights out of JFK, I'm looking for the cheapest non-stop fares from JFK to TLV fromt he 13th or 14th until either the 31st or 1st.

Nothing non-stop at the moment, although SFO-TLV on UA has been discussed (along with IAD, IAH, and ORD). If flying Y avoid DL or LY, UA/CO has the best Y cabin.

Really? We have a direct flight negotiated with Delta for $1,311 tax-in from JFK; RT August 14 to 31. Personally, I don't feel that's nearly enough time to spend and would like to try and extend a few extra days, but the rates seem pretty decent. I'm told the flight is direct.

Direct does not mean nonstop. Direct means that you do not have to change planes.

I've been on the hunt for the same period, and cheap is not happening. :(

I see you have decided to stay in NY. Otherwise from SFO I was going to suggest connecting via Seattle and taking SAS from there, since they are re-starting their direct CPH-TLV flights 2x a week soon.

I used to travel CPH-SEA a lot with my old job, and there just isn't anything I've seen that's faster to the west coast than that route.

The Delta Flight from JFK is a direct NON-stop flight. For verification--how long is it taking? ( or what time are you leaving JFK and what time ( local time) are you arriving in TLV?

Direct may not mean non-stop, but the DL flight is a non-stop flight, JFK-TLV.

And direct does NOT mean you don't need to change planes. UA90 is a direct flight, LAX-TLV, involving LAX-EWR on 73E and EWR-TLV on 772.
