Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if such a place exists but I'm looking for a quiet central London hotel, ideally somewhere between Park Lane and Gray's Inn Road. I'll consider other areas if it's super-quiet and not too far from the centre.

Anything under £250 per night would be great.

I'm imagining there must be some small Marylebone mews boutique hotel but that's probably just a pipe dream.

Thanks :)

I find the hotels IVO Holborn/Russell Square to be pretty quiet. There are a variety of properties - Doubletree West End, a couple of Radisson's, and many others.

Thanks, Jimmie. ^

I'll look into trying it out next week.

rwoman, thanks also for the suggestions. I can't believe where that Doubletree is - I must have walked past it countless times without noticing. :o

It's only been there about a year, but I think it's a great location! :)

Grosvenor House. Park Lane may be busy but the hotel's super quiet and the main entrance is in a quiet street in Mayfair.

We had a lovely stay at the Chancery Court Hotel (nr the Holborn Tube): mid-May stay 780GBP for 4 nights...a pay 3 get 4 nights stay special that included daily buffet breakfast, free WiFi, and nice in-room amenities. Excellent ! Quiet, elegant, dignified hotel. Area has many eateries and a Sainsbury. --sidenote: items of value had been left behind: same day alert and same day retrieval!! ^^honest housekeeping & hotel management.

The Chancery Court Hotel always looks nice when I walk past it. ^

I actually ended up staying at the Royal Horseguards Hotel which somewhat exceeded the budget in my original post but I had an internal-facing room which was very quiet (after requesting a change from a river-view room ).

The Goring, near Victoria. Where the Middletons stayed during the Royal Wedding. It is a quite splendid hotel with a wonderful restaurant and fantastic bar. A 20 minute walk across Green Park to Piccadilly and 5 minutes walk from Victoria Tube.

Advance purchase rooms at £288 + VAT, a little over budget but worth it.

At dinner time, the beef Wellington from the trolley is superb.

I noticed the other day that a new Club Quarters hotel has opened in Lincoln's Inn Fields (near Holborn). This is a very quiet location and pretty convenient for Covent Garden etc.

I have been impressed with how quiet the Grange Hotels (St Pauls & Tower Hill) have been, and colleagues have commented similarly. They can be expensive but often come up on lastminute.com at around the £100 mark.

There's one a Holborn but I don't know anything about that property.
