Looking to book KE flight with Delta miles thru Delta. Can I book KE flights as far out as 330 days, or is it less? KE website only shows award availability for 6 months out.

You can book 330 days out. When EF and KVS had KE award inventory, they showed it available to the end of the schedule.

I just called DL last night and was able to book a KE award flight for Jan 31, 2013.

Thanks. I assume the only way to check availability is by calling Delta? Is KE making available more than one seat at a time to Delta? (i need two)

That is often the rule for Prestige Class, but you may have better luck now that the 380's are flying from lax and jfk to icn now. If available, they usually are available at the "low" rate of 120k skymiles per person in Prestige Class. Just flew them a couple of monthes SLC to HAN thru Seoul with a stopover in Seoul on the way back. Nice Business Class on the 380 and the others are fine for shorter connecting flights in Asia. Yes, you have to call and they do it 331 with blocked out periods.

Yes, KE often does release multiple seats... No real "trends" except that JFK is generally the hardest to get, and the ICN-NRT-LAX A330 flight is usually the most generous.

I picked up two seats with no problems. I asked out of curiosity how many seats were available and the DL agent would not give an exact number but commented there was quite a few. 2013 ATL will get a A380 as well so that may open up some more spaces.

Probably because it is so difficult to check availability relative to other airlines that makes award space so copious. Contrast that to the nosedive in Lufthansa/Swiss awards after every United member and their dog started redeeming them (thanks to the new UA's award search engine- not that I'm complaining)

During the brief period in which we could see KE inventory on EF, ORD regularly had six or seven seats available. Even with the suspected "-2" adjustment to get what's offered to partners, it's a good place to look for space. (Big downside if you're not starting in ORD or a DL hub is that you need to burn two of the four segments you're allotted each direction to get to the gateway.)

Is the limit four segments each way? or eight segments total? Would five segments and three segments be allowed?

It's eight segments total IME.

It's not just ORD- many other cities have some decent award space.

Have you actually booked five one way? The international award fare rules explicitly say three transfers each direction (four segments), and we debugged something on the DL board recently where the only possible reason for the bizarre pricing jump (in miles) is that the ticket wound up with five segments in one direction.

How long and how many agents did it take you to accomplish this? Also, what was the route and miles total?
