Am due to fly HKG-IST in J shortly and have a couple of questions;
1) Flight leaves at 11:30pm - do they serve a full dinner and a full breakfast or is it just a "snack" and full breakfast?
2) Long shot I know, but do they provide PJ's in J?
3) Am currently booked Row 1 J/K for this flight - any negatives about this seat e.g. less legroom than others etc?]
Am somewhat apprehensive of flying TK, so would appreciate any insight into your experiences. Thank you.
Full dinner and full breakfast. Food excellent, drinks service/selection less so.
No PJ's
Service level varies, but is usually ok

Flew this again a couple of days ago. You will die from a heart disease if you do it more than a few times a year. There is enough food for a small town on board. Fantastic crew also, same applies to IST-HKG a few days earlier in Comfort. They were really top notch.
Sadly TGS and the usual outsourced ground staff in HKG make it a lot less pleasant. Something is happening though, there was a new comment "board early or you will be denied boarding" at HKG. Being at the receiving end of the latter before, make sure you go to the gate 1h before. Your boarding pass clearly says gate closes 15min before departure, but SATS HK with no actual TK staff close it when they feel like doing that. And if you like to use a TK ELPL voucher in HKG...prepare for an hour's wait for them to figure out the re-ticketing.
If you have the time, check in from 2pm at AEX HK or Kowloon station and go enjoy the great food and drink at SQ Silver Kris lounge.

If you are going to use the airport express you can also check in at the IFC-Terminal.
First row seats have ample legroom but the proximity of the galley/lavatories could be bothersome.
Service is either hit or miss.

Yes, what's up with that? Same happened twice in BKK when they wrote some messages to my boarding pass that boarding ends 25mins before departure even if it's also says "boarding ends 15min before departure"?

They write that same crap in HKG despite the printed thing says 15min. No written comment at intown check-in, I was denied boarding at -20 and charged a change fee the next day.

That's if you're *G only and not if you only have a TK J BP, right? (Sadly, not yet *G but I'm flying HKG-IST J in a few days)

Really? I thought that it was just something that they implemented at BKK when there was problems with the immigration and long lines. I have always thought that the 15min is the 'real' cut-off time. Interesting indeed. Better to leave lounge earlier.
Oh please. That is over anal Asian check-in idiocy meant for the general gate lice. Last time they said something like that to me I simply said (after ascertaining that the flight was supposed to leave on time): "I will be in the lounge until 30 minutes before the flight, I will be boarding 25 minutes before the flight. As a paying Biz passenger and an Elite Plus I will not be rushed due to whatever herd controlling idiocy that you are trying to pull here". I got a hesitant smile and an okay.
