National - Who has newer cars, Avis or National?

Have been impressed lately with spate of new cars from National, yet was told by a station manager that Avis takes the cake in renting new model year cars.

I've not rented from Avis before, is there truth to what he said?

I just switched this year from Avis to National. I have gotten both high mileage cars and low mileage cars from Avis in the past - a lot of it seems to depend on station. I will say that Avis is better about ordering cars that aren't base models. It wasn't unusual for me to get a car w/ leather, heated seats or other optional features. The cars I've gotten from National are all pretty much universally base trim.
