Germany - Condor/LH connection to USA at FRA. Not same tiicket. Will they interline baggage??

I am traveling from PMI (Palma Mallorca) on Condor, connecting through FRA to a UA booked LH operated flight to Newark. Condor flight is on separate ticket from the UA/LH flight (because the Condor flight isn't a code-share with LH/UA so I couldn't book it together). My concern is whether I will have to collect my baggage and re-check at FRA. Traveling with two small kids with 2.75 hour connection so would be a real hassle. Really hoping Condor can interline my bags and connect them through on the UA/LH flight to Newark even though a separate ticket (I know on some flights LH and Condor are code share partners so have to have some type of inter-line agreement). I would have booked LH for PMI to FRA but all the Star Alliance flights from PMI were too late in day to get home to EWR same day. Any done this before or know for certain whether Condor can check my bag through?? I called Condor in US and they didn't seem to understand the issue and I got a positive but not certain answer. Thank you.

I have done this from other airports than PMI and it worked fine. It depends a lot, whether the agent in PMI has been trained to do this special transaction... In any case you need to ask the agent at the boarding-gate in FRA to re-enter the baggage-tag number into your booking for the ongoing flight, otherwise your baggage will be stranded at FRA.

The major concern that I have with your booking is, that Condor is notorious for changing their schedule from time to time. If your flight is not within the next couple of weeks, I would be prepared for that in your place.
