Hi there,

As I have filed the refund request form in less than 48 hours after the online reservation, no penalty shall apply to a refund.
Could someone help me with this refund matter?

I booked a ticket departing May 6th from YUL to BKK.
I filled the refund form 5 days ago and still no answer.
I booked this ticket using a Privilege Club member #.
Will there be a penalty fee? From what I have read and because I filled the form in less than 48 hours after reservation, no penalty would occur.
Will that make any difference with my request?

Yes Alex, I have e-mailed them yesterday.
Hopefully they will get back to me soon with good news.

I called and they all said that I had to wait for a confirmation by e-mail only for refund matters. Hopefully the refund will be credited soon without any penalty as I have filled the form in less than 48 hours after the online reservation.
I will cross my fingers but the wait is long as it is still uncertain.

All my reference and ticket informations were in the e-mail.
The answer I received from Privilege Club Team (SVC) :

Thank you for your email.

In case of any missing miles, kindly send us your scanned copy of ticket
and boarding pass via email in pdf and jpg format. On the receipt of the
same we will verify and credit flights in your account. Please note that
we are unable to trace your flights details as per the ticket number and
booking reference provided by you.

In case of any other request, kindly elaborate on the same.

All my information were in the e-mail. The answer I received :

Thank you for your email.

After a week, still no refund. They keep transferring my requests to Privilege club and I received this e-mail from them today :

Thank you for your email.

Just wondering what fare buckets allow for 48 hour full refund on cancellations?
Am guessing its for F P C J Y buckets? or are they available for even W?

They want to charge me a CAD 250 cancellation fee.
As a matter of fact, this cancellation is due to health concerns and I will forward the medical certificate as proof to waive off the refund fee.
Hopefully this request can be resolved soon...

Hi Ised,

Most fare buckets come with the cancellation fee dependent on the cancellation rules and condition even the notification of 48 hours. Most W booking class comes with the very restrictive condition such as no refund for the fare and in some case even the fuel surcharge or other taxes.

Roger that, thanks for the clarification.
Just wanted to confirm that it is fare bucket specific and not a blanket clause that covers all tickets.

Currently I have booked 2 seats in H Economy and Q Economy classes.

What is the procedure in cancelling and getting full refund?
I don't really care about the cancellation fees provided they are under USD 100.

Hi, I hope some Qatar airways employee can help me.
My husband and myself had a flight from Barcelona to Nairobi last saturday and as we couldnīt flight for personal problems the previous tuesday I processed a refund request of the tickets for both of us by the web of Qatar as they told me by phone (because I bought the tickets on their web site). When clicking submit on the website of Qatar has gone wrong (this happened to me twice). Anyway the second time I received the email called " Your Refund Request has been received" and in the mail they say "We aim to get back to you within 5 business days".

Itīs been more than a week today and I have had no answer, I wrote 4 mails to the refundrequest@qataraiways.com.qa since last tuesday in order to confirm me that they get my request, but also had not have an answer.

Anyone can help me and tell me what to do?
I m thinking of making a legal complaint,

I have to cancel my travel on the 23rd for surgery, and the lady at the new york office told me they can waive cancellation penalty if I send a surgeon's notice to americascontact center. I did but I haven't received any reply yet....

I have the same problem; and it is really really annoying. They told me it could refund me by MARCH next year depends on if they are busy or not! This is really not acceptable and annoying. The E-Commerce Department is really understaffed; they cant cope with the huge amount of work that is happening.

They told me it could refund me by MARCH next year depends on if they are busy or not! If they dont want to refund you in a timely manner, bring the issue up with the bank that issued your card and dispute the charges.

Most banks as I am aware of have a 30 to 90 day time frame for a customer to dispute any errors of charges. The bank I deal with most in the U.S. has a 30 day period. If I dont dispute within that time frame I am out of luck as far as getting assistance from them.

Your mileage may vary, but it cant hurt to try if QR isnt going to be proactive in resolving the issue.

be careful if you have 2 way tickets, which part says refundable while the other is non-refundable. They will apply only the non-refundable on both parts, so you can get back 0.
