Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus - 40 min connection in BKKView Full Version : 40 min connection in BKK CoSmo001 Apr 7, 12, 7:46 am Flying into BKK from Hong Kong on Thai and flying out of BKK on Thai. Is a 40 minute connection even possible? thanks. Fan2502 Apr 7, 12, 7:49 am No... Mr. Vker Apr 7, 12, 3:22 pm Sometimes you can't even get off the plane that fast. A_Lee Apr 7, 12, 9:59 pm No... I beg to differ, being I've done it several times, so it is 'possible'. It is a tight connection though, and also is not a 'legal' connection. So if your inbound is delayed, TG won't be liable for anything. But still they will likely try to assist you in making your connection, provided you let them know. If the connection is very important to you, or if your outbound is not a changeable ticket, I doubt I'd risk it personally. But that decision is ultimately up to the passenger to decide. Will you need to go through immigration? LHR/MEL/Europe FF Apr 11, 12, 2:26 am Flying into BKK from Hong Kong on Thai and flying out of BKK on Thai. Is a 40 minute connection even possible? thanks. I would advise the crew on your inbound flight if you can and see what advice they give you. Walks at BKK can be extremely long, and boarding for your next flight will commence 10 minutes after you touch down (the arrival time is only on ground, you then have to taxi, hook up air bridges etc etc). It will be very tight, especially clearing transit security and walking to your next gate. Hopefully your inbound might be a bit early. TG connecting flights (international) are usually operated from concourse C. Connecting time is around 30 min. Anyway, if you are short in time, Thai ground staff will escort you from gate to gate even if you are flying Economy. Had onece an outside arrival position from Taipei and got limousine transfer directely to the new gate for Frankfurt connection within minutes. Thanks to TG ground service. Creole Spirit Apr 18, 12, 1:57 am note: due to runway construction work at BKK and consequently reduced capacity for aircraft bigger than A320, ATC delays are expected until 23.June and it has been announced by Thai that minimum connecting time of 55 min (from TG onto TG-flights) cannot be maintained during this period. They are working with a 80 min minimum connecting time till then..... |
