I'm pretty sure I have done this in the past... PVDtoDEL Apr 5, 12, 8:47 pm not possible. Never has been possible, in fact. Mr. Bean Apr 5, 12, 8:57 pm Continental? What's that?:confused::confused: poorbanker Apr 5, 12, 9:43 pm Sorry. It must have been Kingfisher? So getting miles on Air-India are essentially worthless? As they are not part of an alliance. They also never respond to my emails... Terrible customer service. indialogue Apr 5, 12, 10:09 pm They also never respond to my emails... Terrible customer service. Surprisingly, I get pretty prompt responses from their Flying Returns team - within a day. Must be outsourced? hyderago Apr 5, 12, 11:41 pm I too get relatively prompt responses from the Flying Returns team. You can get miles on LH and SQ for AI flights. PVDtoDEL Apr 5, 12, 11:42 pm Surprisingly, I get pretty prompt responses from their Flying Returns team - within a day. Must be outsourced? Yes, Flying Returns is outsourced. I usually get replies to my emails to AI directly as well within a week... PVDtoDEL Apr 5, 12, 11:43 pm So getting miles on Air-India are essentially worthless? As they are not part of an alliance. They also never respond to my emails... Terrible customer service. AI miles are worthless on partners. However, redemptions on AI are reasonably priced and availability is good. If and when they join Star Alliance, that will change. Keyser Apr 6, 12, 5:13 am Sorry. It must have been Kingfisher? it was kingfisher but that ended a long time ago....i think in 2009.... poorbanker Apr 9, 12, 12:48 pm Does Jet have any partnership or code sharing with any of the alliances? PVDtoDEL Apr 9, 12, 12:50 pm Does Jet have any partnership or code sharing with any of the alliances? http://www.jetairways.com/FR/BE/JetPrivilege/Partners/Airlinepartners.aspx You won't earn elite-status qualifying miles if you credit to any of these programs though. jasepl Apr 9, 12, 8:44 pm Does Jet have any partnership or code sharing with any of the alliances? Jet is the consummate slutty girl... She hooks it up with everyone. And then some. As I like to say, Jet's legs are spread so wide apart now, the airline is going to be buried in a Y-shaped coffin. ;) kshastry Apr 10, 12, 8:58 am Jet is the consummate slutty girl... She hooks it up with everyone. And then some. As I like to say, Jet's legs are spread so wide apart now, the airline is going to be buried in a Y-shaped coffin. ;) LOL...! There is good chance that she may then re-incarnate as "Virgin India" after having washed all her 'sins' (JP members balance) poorbanker Apr 10, 12, 9:37 pm Thanks. So Kingfisher has no relations anymore? PVDtoDEL Apr 10, 12, 10:02 pm Thanks. So Kingfisher has no relations anymore? No. I wouldn't fly them anyway - they're really unreliable these days. Keyser Apr 11, 12, 7:00 am Thanks. So Kingfisher has no relations anymore? not with continental.... poorbanker Apr 18, 12, 3:27 am not possible. Never has been possible, in fact. I flew Air India today and used my United code... Keyser Apr 18, 12, 3:59 am I flew Air India today and used my United code... used your united code for what????by 'code' do your mean frequent flyer number???? PVDtoDEL Apr 18, 12, 4:00 am used your united code for what????by 'code' do your mean frequent flyer number???? If you did, the fare bucket is guaranteed to earn 0% Ghayoor Apr 18, 12, 4:03 am No. I wouldn't fly them anyway - they're really unreliable these days. You are right it is very dangerous now-a-days:confused: PVDtoDEL Apr 18, 12, 4:09 am You are right it is very dangerous now-a-days:confused: No, I wouldn't call IT dangerous. I haven't heard anything about them skimping on required maintenance or anything, and their pilots are just as well trained as any other airlines' Their unreliability is about randomly cancelling flights, leaving you stranded at the airport at the mercy of walk-up fares. poorbanker Apr 18, 12, 4:16 am If you did, the fare bucket is guaranteed to earn 0% I'll let you know what % I got when it gets posted. I think it will take some time. I prob. should have just used my Air India frequent flyer code. PVDtoDEL Apr 18, 12, 4:27 am I'll let you know what % I got when it gets posted. I think it will take some time. I prob. should have just used my Air India frequent flyer code. Do tell - how did you manage to input the number? It's impossible in the AI systems as far as I know. Keyser Apr 18, 12, 4:40 am I'll let you know what % I got when it gets posted. I think it will take some time. I prob. should have just used my Air India frequent flyer code. you will get no miles for this....ua is not a partner....you can always use your ai number later....in theory you can call & give them the pnr for the flight & they will credit it....but, being ai, they will make it as difficult as possible for you.... poorbanker Apr 18, 12, 4:59 am Do tell - how did you manage to input the number? It's impossible in the AI systems as far as I know. I'm telling you... They used my United number and printed it on my ticket even. I will let you know how many points I get. I've done it in the past too. Anyone else flying soon that wants to try it too? Keyser Apr 18, 12, 5:25 am I've done it in the past too. did you get points in the past???? PVDtoDEL Apr 18, 12, 5:36 am You are telling me that an AI agent took your FFN, and it even printed on the boarding pass. And that you have gotten UA credit in the past. All of this without a frequent flyer agreement. I'm completely confused. poorbanker Apr 18, 12, 6:28 am You are telling me that an AI agent took your FFN, and it even printed on the boarding pass. And that you have gotten UA credit in the past. All of this without a frequent flyer agreement. I'm completely confused. Yes. On my boarding pass they stamped "FF UN FN(my number)". I started this thread because I thought I did it a couple of years ago too. I can't seem to find that history in my account though... In 2010 I did use Kingfisher and received 706 miles for BOM to DEL on my United account. I will keep you all posted on if the AI points ever show up on my United account. PVDtoDEL Apr 18, 12, 6:39 am Yes. On my boarding pass they stamped "FF UN FN(my number)". Well, that should be the first flag. AI boarding passes print out the IATA code. So it should have been "FF UA FN" I started this thread because I thought I did it a couple of years ago too. I can't seem to find that history in my account though... You might have successfully gotten the number added, but you never got the miles because they never had an agreement. In 2010 I did use Kingfisher and received 706 miles for BOM to DEL on my United account. Yes, because IT had an agreement with CO I will keep you all posted on if the AI points ever show up on my United account. Good luck. I hope you get it - more FF partnerships with AI are always appreciated. poorbanker Apr 19, 12, 10:08 am Well... I flew Air India again today and tried to use my United code again but was told by two agents that they have no partnership. I told them the last trip I took they used it and they said I probably won't get points for it... Time will tell... Keyser Apr 19, 12, 2:19 pm Well... I flew Air India again today and tried to use my United code again but was told by two agents that they have no partnership. I told them the last trip I took they used it and they said I probably won't get points for it... Time will tell... they put it in by mistake last time....there is no way you should get any miles for that.... unicon Apr 22, 12, 2:42 pm Well... I flew Air India again today and tried to use my United code again but was told by two agents that they have no partnership. I told them the last trip I took they used it and they said I probably won't get points for it... Time will tell... Before time tells it, pretty much everyone who knows about AI partnerships will tell you that you won't get UA miles for your flight. AFAIK, the only partners you can earn miles for AI flights are LH and SQ. You are most likely mistaken about your earlier earning. You are certainly mistaken about earning UA miles for IT flights back in 2010 as you probably would have earned CO OnePass miles and not UA MP miles. If you do not want to lose the miles for the AI flight you took, it would be best to submit a mileage credit request into your FR account now rather than waiting for the credit to happen in your UA account. |
