For a trip to Indonesia which is better to use. Starting point in AMS. Any advice hints are welcome. Read loads of trip reports and keep on doubting.

Singapore airport is a better airport to transit than KUL and that over HKG. ======= Have you considered EK or QR ? QR may not fly from AMS but they have fares that allow you to connect at any European gateway.. eg LHR, CDG, FRA, CPH, MUC, MAD, FCO, ZRH, VIE etc.. jackylek Apr 6, 12, 2:10 am CX ??? Same level as SQ U havent flying CX long time I guess.... More Older planes then SQ... hard and uncomfy the new plastic seat. And their inflight entertainment .... is way behind SQ . If the fare is the same SQ would be a better choice, but if u can save 100Euro or more then CX can compensate for the loss, and you can used thoose money to have more fun in Asia. And try to AVOID the CX B-747 is so noisy in the cabin ! blackmamba Apr 7, 12, 7:42 pm Both SQ and CX only offer around 32" seat pitch in economy. MH has around 34". They're incredibly old and worn out. I had some good times on MH before but my last flight was so bad that I've avoided them like the plague ever since. CX seats break your back but their changing that now. The service is top notch but it takes more to strike a conversation with their FAs. SQ is the best overall. I've never flown in SQ Y but I could imagine the service to be just as good and the overall experience just as great. The FAs on SQ are amazing and they genuinely care about you. On one flight, the FA noticed that I wasn't feeling to well and brewed a special Honey Lemon Tea for me to soothe my throat. Needless to say, I wrote a commendation for her (which she refused if it was going to be individualized and insisted that it be written to commend the whole Cabin Crew!) moondog Apr 7, 12, 8:26 pm MH might have 34" but have you seen those seats??? I received similar service on CX when I was 21 years old; the FA even invited me to the crew rest area to hang out with her. Regarding SQ, Y is a really pleasant experience on PEK/ICN/PVG/NRT-SIN flights. I don't know how to describe it, but time simply passes by effortlessly. I don't care for CX's shell seats in Y, which -- as mentioned above -- are on the way out. wouter Apr 10, 12, 6:15 am thanks guys for your replies, we have decided to go with SQ. Best Y seat on a 777-300ER? blandy62 Apr 10, 12, 7:20 am SQ definitely. The flight attendants are much nicer and polite and the overall product is far better.
