Japan - NRT announces LCC terminal to be completed in FY2014

Essentially they have decided to build a new pier on the northwest landside of T2 which will have what looks like 4 additional jetbridges. There will also be new domestic check-in facilities added on the front side of T2. Planning and work scheduling are supposed to be finalized this fiscal year, i.e. by next March.

I wonder if they'll be able to build it inexpensively enough to satisfy AirAsia and Jetstar...?

No mention of that in the press release, but a blurb on the evening news last night did mention that they are going to make the check-in and baggage facilities simpler and less expensive. I'd imagine that they are working closely with AirAsia and Jetstar on the specs.

They should just process and dump all the pax/bags outside like peach does in KIX! :p
