Do I really need to be at the airport 3 hrs early like the pre-checkin says? Can I be there 90 mins early? Yup, 90 is fine. Never much of a line for priority checkin, if one forms they open up another agent to us. Security can be busy but there is priority line. AA lounge steps away. phlashba Apr 5, 12, 7:14 am Yup, 90 is fine. Never much of a line for priority checkin, if one forms they open up another agent to us. Next week will be my first departure from LAN's new spot at T8. It will be nice to be through security well ahead of departure as the last minute lounge to security to gate scrum always watched-up my stress level. bingocallerb22 Apr 5, 12, 2:55 pm Thanks Bingo --- so the priority security is actually functioning? Yup, it worked and I understand you comment about preferring lounge to be airside... but we lost on this one. The Oasis is a way better lounge... self serve beverages, all you want, hot meal nice buffet, etc. For the AA lounge you get 2 drink coupons and have to pay for something hot to eat. :td: phlashba Apr 5, 12, 4:09 pm Yup, it worked and I understand you comment about preferring lounge to be airside... but we lost on this one. I really dislike Admiral's Clubs in general but for me it's worth it to be finished with security long before boarding. I'll miss the Oasis though. phlashba Apr 19, 12, 10:17 am I have to say that my first flight from LAN's new position at JFK's T8 was very positive and I am glad they made the switch. My experience in the Admiral's Club was surprisingly tranquil as it was uncrowded from 8:00pm until 11:00pm on a Monday night (as in less than 20 people in the whole club). Furthermore now we have access to the AAngels who will actually proactively work with LAN agents at the gate. This is something that the workers at Oasis were never willing or able to do IME. The only negative was the absence of food but that doesn't bother me as they provide enough food on board for my needs and I can always buy a sandwich or salad in the club if I really want it. The shower facilities are also vastly superior to the one shower for each gender (inside the restroom) at Oasis and the wifi connection seems faster. The relief of being relaxed and airside is incalculable. Of course for connections between AA and LAN this setup is also a HUGE improvement. So, three cheers from me on this one. ^ |
