Sixt - who messed it up? Travelocity or Sixt?
I made a reservation for a car at SJU through Autoslash for dates 4/4-4/10 back in January. Autoslash initially sent me a confirmation email with a price of $135.74 for rental with Sixt and in a day or so sent me another email indicating they found a better price of $98.17 with Sixt again and rebooked it automatically for me and provided me the new confirmation email. Fast forward to today and am at the Sixt rental counter with my wife on her birthday only to find the rate is now at $299.18. I call the number on my confirmation email and it went to a Travelocity agent who informed me that they do see the reservation for $98.17 and faxed that to the Sixt rental counter. But the Sixt agent says they only see two reservations for me. One cancelled for $135.74 and another for $299.18 on their reservation system and could not honor the $98.17 rate. They have the correct confirmation numbers, car type, dates and my name but a different price, address, phone number and email address. After few phone calls to Travelocity who made calls to Sixt corporate office and to the Sixt rental agent I was told to pay the $299.18 and once the trip is over submit all documentation to Travelocity to get the issue investigated. After a long 14 hour journey from westcoast I spent another 2.5 hours at the rental agency when I should be spending time with my wife on her Birthday on a beach. What a bad start to our vacation.
Sorry for the rant but who seems to be at fault here? Couple of things of interest here. Travelocity record matches my record including the name, my address and my cell number etc. Sixt reservation has incorrect address, phone number and email address for me which seems to be why I never received a confirmation email from Sixt itself. However the confirmation numbers, dates, car type etc match between the systems.
Appreciate your suggestions.
An unfortunate lesson to learn on a special holiday. You will never find out who screwed up and T/velocity and Sixt will each point the finger at the other. Unless there is some extraordinary deal to be had, book on a given organization's own website (air carrier, hotel, car rental, etc).

The fact is that whether it be Sixt or Traveloicty's error, the mistake has occurred and for that I am very sorry. If you would be kind enough to forward the details direct to me gary.coughlan@sixt.com I will be happy to look into this for you.
Gary - Customer Service Team
when arriving to Sixt in TLV i was informed that the Travelocity order is not confirmed by SIXT. I have received clear confirmation form Travelocity and since i never got any cancellation, I called their client service and asked for help. (Their international number is not available). the support agent confirmed that the order is valid and asked me to wait on the line for further checks. when i asked to return to my local number she refused (which means that Travelocity support for international travel is dubious). After 30 minutes of international call she failed to provide any solution and still asked me to wait on the international call. I have refused and asked to get a written answer. since i was already one hour at SIXT, i have rented a car at the counter for double the price and lower class.
