Travelled on a full fare Austrian Airlines ticket between Paris and Vienna. On this route Austrian has a code share with Air France and half the flights are operated with AF aircraft.
As I was not flying on a Star Alliance aircraft - Eurobonus does not give any miles for this flight - even if I had a Austrian ticket and Austrian flight code. This is according to their rules but quite annoying as it is not like Air France would award me any miles ...
Did quickly check the rules for some other Star Alliance programmes and Lufthansa; BMI and United would award miles for this flight ...

Wrong. With Star Alliance FFPs (SK inclusive), the operating carrier is all that matters. As long as you are not flying on Star Alliance metal (even if booked through a Star Alliance carrier's codeshare), you won't get any miles/points.

In general you are right, there a (very few) exceptions though.

Well, Lufthansa might give you miles given that M&M is the "native" program for OS
UA definately doesn't "If you purchase a ticket on a flight that is marketed by Austrian Airlines but operated by another airline (known as a codeshare flight), the operating airline determines how many miles you earn for your flight."

I'd say that this is pretty much the policy in any alliance, not a *A thing, codeshares earn only if A) The operating carrier is in the same alliance or B) You are in the "native" program of the markertng carrier.
PS. Am I the only one who automatically reads SA as South African, rather than Star Alliance.

I thought the same...and in addition as header reads NOW and not NO it was even more confusing at first :-)

I had to read it several times, before I figured out what it was about.
Otherwise I agree...it was a code share (AF metal on a OS ticket), so no points in EuroBonus.

Yes, left that exception out. If you belong to the home FFP of the marketing carrier (for the codeshare), you generally get miles if booked in an eligible booking class.
