We're flying to Sanibel Island over Thanksgiving 2012 from Minneapolis. We will use Sun country airlines as they flight direct. Right now the rate is $480. I'm wondering should I wait so maybe the cost lowers or should I buy now. Thanks for any input!

Welcome to flyertalk!

Normally the advice would we to wait because you are still 7 months from departure. That being said, I fly from Duluth to Ft. Myers 10-12 times per year and I have never seen prices as high as they are.

If you are comfortable with the fare, I would say book it. Personally I would wait a few weeks until Southwest publishes their fares for the end of November and see if there is any decrease in price.

Thanks for responding with good information. Have you ever flown Sun Country? I'm wondering if the $480 price will stay. When we fly Delta the price fluctuates. Thanks for any and all advice..

I don't fly Sun Country but from what I have seen their prices will fluctuate too. Often they and Delta will be the same price on a n/s to RSW. As of late Delta pricing out of MSP has been very high for almost all of my desitinations.

I think I will wait until Southwest comes out with their rates. Being it is so early, I think I have time to wait a little while and see what happens with Delta and SW. I agree with you about Delta. This year we flew out of Chicago to get a cheaper rate to RSW. Luckily we have family there where we can stay.
Thanks again!
