Long shot, but maybe someone can help...

I'm an Android user & just downloaded the new Instagram for Android app. Went to create an account & got a message that my email address was already in use. I didn't remember creating an account, but went to the reset password option, got an email & changed the password. So...just logged on using my newly reset password & discover that someone else has created an account using my email address* and uploaded ~250 pics.

Anyway...I don't want to be a complete jerk & delete this woman's photos and friends. Can anyone think of how I can get in touch with the her? I know the username she was using, but can't find any other online accounts in the same name. And I obviously know her first & last name, but I can only see a thumbnail pic of her, so my chances of finding her on FB--where there may thousands of others with the same name--are slim to none.

Is there any way to send a PM to her friends on Instagram? She only has 3, um, 2** and neither seem to comment on her photos, though one seems to regularly like her pics. Any other ideas or suggestions? I've sent a message to Instagram, but got an autoresponse letting me I may hear from them in a few days.

* Worth noting: I have a common name & have firstnamelastname@hugeemailprovider.com as my email address. Every single day I get emails intended for other people who have the same name as me. I get order confirmations because people who have the same name as me are morons & don't know their own email addresses. It's ridiculous.

** Side note: I see that one of my business colleagues--who I've never met face to face--is following her and obviously thought her drivel was me! He must have searched for friends via email & "my" account came up.

Well i would suggest deleting the account, mainly because she is using your email to post pictures of herself. Also you don't know if it is a spambot or not. Keep this in mind if she is using instagram with your email with out your consent, what else has she started without you knowing?

I agree with ashlenz. Is this issue done?

Good idea but if she is using the same email she has the password as well. I would think it would be a good idea to reset the password again.

Well if that is done (reset) I believe the OP didn't want to be negative and delete her pictures. Either way both parties are losing,I think Instagram has changed their policies and send a link to verify their actual email.
