Fairmont President's Club - Non-transferable reservation

Just wondering if anyone has come across this situation.

I booked a pre-paid, non-cancellable reservation under my FPC account. I called FPC to see about getting the reservation transferred under my wife's FPC account to help her build status. It was actually paid with her credit card if that makes any difference.

The agent said this reservation is non-transferable as well. I looked on the Fairmont site to see anything about this clause but couldn't find anything.

Does anyone know if this is correct? If it is fine but if it was just a case of an uniformed agent I will call back and make sure I talk to someone with more knowledge.

When you checkout just ask the agent to credit her fpc and your problem is solved.

Thanks. I guess that's an option. Don't understand why doing that would be so easy/routine but asking months before arrival is impossible. Time will tell.

It makes sense that prepaid non-refundable rates are also non-transferable.

However, it should be possible to add your wife as a second guest and ask the check-in agent to credit the stay to your wife´s FPC account.

(as long both you are staying in the room, both criteria would be met IMO)

I've tried this at two different hotels and been denied both times.

I've been receiving problems with stay credits when transferring at one hotel.. others have been no problem and with easy.. hotels with prepaid non cancellable deposits.

I've done this at the BSH without a problem at all.

I didn't have problems in the past, but the last couple transferred have not been credited properly onto the FPC profile.. bit like pulling teeth. Good thing the stays were not material.
