Hi everyone, first of all thank you for helping me book my first Award ticket with Asiana for our June trip.

Now here's my issue.

On Friday I started going on the airlines website to select our seats.
LAX-IAH-MAD via UA had some slight changes on the time but I was able to reserve our seats

ATH-YUL-LAX via AC was a different story. I couldn't find the flight available. I called AC to check and the CSR told me that that flight is no longer available. I immideately emailed Asiana and called their Korea office regarding the changes since it was the weekend.

I spoke to someone based in the Korea office and I asked the agent why I did not get any emails informing me about the changes. She did not have an answer.

She then found me an ATH-LHR-LAX flight that fitted my schedule and told me to call Monday (today) to get my tix reissued.

I spoke to someone is Asiana Club today and now she is telling me that I have to ask for a refund for the 2 original tickets, get ticketed for the new itinerary, send another award ticket request form. And all this for a cancelled segment that I was not informed about.

All I want to know is, are they asking me to do the correct process? I asked the CSR if she can just ticket the new itinerary now while I am on the phone with her and I will ask for the refund when I get off the phone. She then asked me for my number and that she will have to look into this more.

Thank you :(
Jasmine

Too bad that they did not inform you about the cancellation. But in Asiana's defense, they won't know a flight is canceled, even though they might be *A partner.

Sounds right...since it is a *A flights, the tickets have to be canceled and reissued.

I had a flight that was canceled, I had to get the tickets reissued. I had to fill out the forms again; just like you the routing had changed, as well as the confirmation number.

Asiana requires too much documentation; but what can you do...good luck on your flight...

Thank you. The Asiana CSR did her best to make it less complicated and with much success we are now booked and ticketed.

How did it go getting the OZ seat assignments? I am having some trouble getting seats for SEA-ICN and ICN-FRA.

Thank you,
VB

VB, since I will be flying with Partner Airlines UA and Aegean. UA is accessible online I had no issues, not sure with Aegean yet.

OZ will block online seat assignment when it reaches approximately 50% (each class has a certain limit). Therefore, you won't be able to get your seat assignment until you get to the airport. Asiana does this to make available seats for special needs customers (i.e. parents traveling with babies).

The downside is that if you want a certain seat, you have to get to the airport early to check-in or "complain" to the customer service rep and have her "talk" to her supervisor to assign you a seat.

VB, are you traveling in Y or C class. If you are in Y, you maybe SOL.

I would try everyday. I have seen half the cabin open up one day and closed the next. As previously mentioned by muc2asia, once the 50% hits, no more open seats. So, if just one person cancels a flight, half the cabin can open up.

I am in F, but SEA to ICN is an all business layout.
