Hi All,
I am planning to propose to my gf in CT, and I am looking at the following hotels:
Last Word Constantia in the 100sq2 suite: That will be a one night stay as I want to be in V&A.
Last Word Long beach - Premier 70sq2 suite: Also one night stay.
TAJ CT: I can stay there longer, although not in the V&A. Or maybe stay there one night.
Cape Royale: I can stay there the whole of my holidays.
Which would be the best option? I can probably stay longer at any of those, although I have had so many feedbacks to stay in the waterfront.
Let me know your thoughts! Much appreciated
I live in CPT right next to the Cape Royale. I would not call the Cape Royale a true 5 star hotel probably more 4 star superior. IMHO it has the nicest location of all the places you mentioned although Somerset Road which is directly in front of the hotel can be quite busy.
I don't know about the last word hotels but if the weather is bad I personally don't want to stay in Constatia or Kommetjie and what sense does it make to just stay there 1 night and then move to another hotel. You did not mention when you want to visit Cape Town which is also important.
The Taj has very nice rooms and location wise its also very close to the Waterfront. Would you walk from the Cape Royale to the Waterfront or why do you think it has a better location than the Taj? I have never walked there from my place so it does not matter whether you want to stay at the Taj or Cape Royale.
Based on your options I would choose the Taj especially in autumn and winter. In summer you could also consider a Marina Island room or suite at the One and Only. I don't know anything about their service. Service wise the Cape Grace is probably the best.

For a proposal your girl friend will never forget go to the Ellerman House. It's the most romantic and beautiful property in Cape Town.

Definately Ellerman House. Room with view of ocean and nice terrace. We like room 1 or any of the suites!

Yeah, everyone tells me about Ellerman House, but I just can't afford the £550/night price at the moment. I have quite a few corporate discounts which I can use, and unfortunatelly I don't have any in Ellerman House....
