Europe - Is there a luggage storage facility at AMS?

Our flight arrives at 8:30a.m. from Paris and leaves at 7:00p.m. for London and we have 2 suitcases each (4 total). Assuming that AF at CDG will not check our luggage all the way to LHR, here are the options:

1. Check in Citizen M or Yotel(?), leave luggage there.

2. Arrive, go to KLM Lounge, take shower, leave luggage and pick up later.

3. Go outside and store luggage if there is a facility.

Suggestions? Advice?

Thanks in advance.

I stored some luggage for a day trip in AMS recently. Here's some info on luggage lockers.

Be careful that you will be using the same area for departure as arrivals. I was on easyjet to GVA and somehow I could not access my luggage in the arrival lockers (http://www.schiphol.nl/Travellers/AtSchiphol/CheckinControl/DeparturesFromGatesHAndM.htm). I had to run around a little bit but it all worked out in the end.

Best.

Thanks choijw. I need to find out where my departure and arrival areas are. Or may leave the luggage at the luggage depot outside (7 Euros each, and 4 pieces will be 28 Euros :( )

They have lockers outside - you pay per locker, not per piece. (There is probably a manned counter as well, but I've never used it)

If you leave your bags on the reclaim carousel too long, they'll be stored away. Wait(ing in line) to get them back can take a long time unless you have top ST status.

Thinking about this more now... what airlines are you flying with?

If the entire itinerary is on AF/KLM then your bags will be checked through - regardless of whether you are on a single booking or separate ones.

Even if they are not checked through (but they should be) you can drop your baggage off again as soon as you've picked it up - just go landside, go up one flight of stairs and go to a bag drop with your boarding passes. (This applies to flights handled by KLM, things may be different if you're flying with BA)

So there is no need to pay for storage.

As for the hotels you mentioned (just for completeness, or in case your onward flight is with BA) - the Yotel is airside so you wouldn't be able to take your checked baggage. And I don't think the CitizenM does day rooms.

Thanks, YVR Cockcroach and Aviatrix.

Flight is on AF/KLM. If they will check our suitcases all the way through, then no more worries.
