I am considering the following trip:
Fly from LAX to ABE (Lehigh Valley International) Airport. Rent a car at the airport, visit relatives overnight in Stroudsburg area; return car to the airport. Transfer to Trans-Bridge bus at the Bethlehem depot on Industrial Drive, and ride the bus to the PABT in Manhattan. Stay overnight for activities in New York City, then fly home JFK-LAX the next day.
Per Google maps, the Trans-Bridge depot is about 1.4 miles from the airport car-rental lot. I don't see any planned scheme for this connection. I was curious if anyone has made this transfer, and has a suggested method. Consider that I will be carrying a small day pack, and a small suitcase.
I can speculate on the following methods:
1. Walk the 1.4 miles, per the Google instructions.
2. Use a taxi. Be prepared for the driver to grumble about the short 1.4 mile trip.
3. Take the hourly LANTA #215 bus (not on Sunday) from the airport to Schoenersville Road and Industrial Drive, about 1000 feet from the Trans-Bridge depot.
4. Is there a free shuttle service?
Of course, I could implement a simpler scheme by flying and renting via Newark Airport. However, I'm trying to avoid the stressful, lengthy drive between Newark and Stroudsburg.
