Has anyone seen any impact due to this, resulting in overall cheaper tickets?
ST should be reduced by half, based on the budget, but I haven't seen LH reduce the ST yet...

It's already in effect guys. 9W showing it, BA showing, CX showing it... Just in time for everyone to hike their YQ/YR's discretely without anyone noticing as overall fares are cheaper

FYI - Did a further fare search. SQ, AI, KE, UL, VS, TG, EK, QR, WY, UA, DL, NH, JL, SA, ET, KQ, AY, BD*, AF, KL, QF,
Airlines that havent - LH, LX, MH, OS, EY, AA, SN, RJ, GF, KU, SV, SU, CA, MU, OZ, LY, AZ*
* INDICATES offline carrier not flying to India, but codesharing / ticketing from India and showing JN taxes calculated at the old higher rate as of Apr 2, 2012.
Interesting to note why some carriers are slower to react than others. Buying a ticket right now on JET INDIA-BRU-INDIA on P class, which has the exact same fare as buying it on the SN codeshare on D class (base fare) - now the Jet option is cheaper because of nearly 6k diff in JN... So till this settles down, shop wisely and avoid buying tickets on carriers charging higher JNs

Carriers do not react to this. The loading of taxes is done universally by the pricing engines on the basis of filings with ATPCO or SITA. In the case of Governmental taxes, these are filed with IATA's Coding Department by the local representative (in the case of India, it is Air India's Industry Affairs Department) who then disseminates the information. Therefore any variation in results is not due to the carrier's action/inaction but rather the action/inaction of their CRS vendors and their particular settings.

With Jet I would have arrived almost 2 hours earlier, but then would have to endure a Stalag-style shower at BRU in the Diamond Lounge there. (Zyaada gandha!)
(9w lounge staff said that new showers would *never* be installed there - just FYI everyone!)

(Thus, I do not lend credence to much of what he says, other than he received the new notification sheet...)
