OK, I'm using 80,000 points for two rooms/four nights at the Park City HI Express next week.(Sundance Film Festival) I think I'm getting tremendous value for my points and wondered who else out there spends their points and gets a great value out of them. My 80,000 points are saving me and my family 8 nights x minimum $179 per night = $1440!
Please post your well spent points here.

I have always felt the HI-Express rewards were well worth the points. I have valued the points accordingly, so 10,000 points is approximately $80 in value to me ($75 for the room and $5 for breakfast). Your deal is nearly twice that, so in my mind is an incredible deal.

See ya in the skies!!!

That is indeed a pretty good deal, booked the HI Express in Cathedral City ( greater Palm Springs area ) in march this year, rate was around $ 135, decided to burn 10000 points as well !!

I agree too that Holiday express in the big cities are the most valuable rewards.

I went serveral times to the HI Marina del Rey of Los Angeles, which is normally 90 dollars, I must agree that this is far beyond yours, but I was really happy to save points for that stay !

I haven't stayed yet, but my big deal is 60000 pts for 6 nights in July at the HIE in Houston for the MLB All-Star game. The only way it might be a "bad" deal is if there are double points promos or the like during July next year, so I may miss out on decent earnings opportunities. Now, if only I could spend points for tickets to the game!

Expresses are the best value. Plus I find they give me the best room - without asking because I'm platinum.

I took advantage of the 50% off awards for IC hotels last summer. I stayed at The Barclay IC in Manhattan for five nights. I believe had I booked it over the internet, the nightly rate would have been ~$350 per night. Mutpliy that times five for 75K PC points, and it was a great deal indeed!

Again, Palm Springs is one, if not the best area for redemption.

Stayed at the HI Express in Palm Desert recently and was more than happy to spend 10000 points instead of $ 185.

Not comparable to the Hyatt Grand Champions close by, but with no more FFN`s to burn, the HIEX is a very good option...

I am just as impressed that award nights would be available during such major events as the SUNDANCE FF and the NFL playoff. Let alone the savings...

Even though I wasn't going to the festival this year, I looked at availability and there was none. Maybe they've figured us out. :D

Hi
I have just booked 5 nights at the new Crowne Plaza Esteponia-Costa Del Sol.
It cost me 125,000 in points but the standard delux room rate is £227 per ($393) night so thats saving me £1125 ($1965). This is a new Crowne Plaza and will be opening in June.

Of all the places I have stayed at with Priority Club this has got to be the best return I have had for points so far. Then again its really bad to see my account having such a large amount being taken off of it.

Have not finished booking my other hotels but it looks like PC are certainly helping me save around £2000. Also have my Easter trip to France which is bening funded by PC as well.

regards

I recently booked a holiday inn express in Essen, Germany, for three nights, where because of the World Cup, rates were 225 euro.

My best value for redeemed points was for two rooms for 4 nights each at the new HIX Prague for 10k/nt/rm (total of 80k points).

Considering that the room rate was somewhere of ~150 Euros per night (displayed prominently behind the check in desk), I consider the 10k points per night a great deal. And the included continental breakfast was well worth it.

Be careful though, the rooms with a queen bed are about as tiny as possible! Basically, a room with the bed in it and barely enough space to walk around the bed. Better to get a room with two twin beds as these offer much more space. And if you want you can just push the twin beds together in you need to sleep next to your SO.

The best deal I had was this past Dec 28 - 1 Jan.
11,000 points per night for 4 nights = 44,000 points
Room cost varied from $150 the first 2 nights and $250 per night for new years eve and the night before.

$800 for 44,000!!!

I had to book the room in Sept or Oct before they ran out of reward night options. If you plan on doing a NYC trip I highly encourage the Candlewood Suite in Jersey City. Walk 5 min to the PATH station and 10-15 min on the train, you're on 33rd street.

This past summer I spent 60K points for 2 rooms x 3 nights for HI Express in Page AZ. This was so we could have easy access to Lake Powell w/ excellent H2O skiing, complemented by the continental B-fast in the morning and A/C sleeping at night. The alternative was to camp on the beach like previous years. The fam was grateful.
