Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus - Inappropriate eligible fare classes on United - credit to ROP

Dear TG experts,

Can someone please help me raise my concern to the right person at TG? Back in November, I raised an issue on their inconsistent mileage accrual rule on UA vs. CO flights (both streamlined their fare classes since Feb 1, 2011 yet TG had two different rules for the two). I raised an issue to Star Alliance and ROP, got an official reply from TG Corporate Office assuring me that following both airlines merging into one airline code, a change would be coming and that ROP members would earn mileage similarly to how Mileage Plus members earn miles on UA flights.

The most recent update on ROP website simply removed Continental from the table and left everything absolutely unchanged for UA fare classes. For those who fly UA, you know that W fare is not even considered discounted economy while S fare is the highest discounted economy. Both of these fare classes should earn mielage on ROP as they do on all other Star Alliance programs.

I re-highlighted the above issues to ROP and the guy at Corporate office who sent me a reply last time, yet no response.

Thanks,
Kiam

Um, why do you want to kill the ___ fare accrual? Do you hate freedom? :D

I just like to make a small plea.

Please do not write that booking class here (or please edit the posting to remove it) so that it will remain under the radar. People from the airline also look into this forum.

But as for S and W, please mention them as many times as possible as the policy does indeed not seem fair.

You make a good point and I have amended my post accordingly. I hope the OP (other posters) will do the same.

Thank you in advance for everyone's help.

I apologize for that :(

Well, it is already done so there is nothing we could do about it. Let us hope that someone is too lazy to do something about it.

In future, I think we should be a little more careful to ensure that the interests of the FT and not those of the airlines should be looked after.

It should be similar to this pledge made by other members for mileage run http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mileage-run-discussion/692629-mistake-fares-i-pledge-not-call-airlines.html

Update from ROP response. Who wants to bet NO CHANGE. :)

Dear Kiam,

The merger between United and Continental has been completed and all flights operate using the UA flight code. For this reason we have removed Continental from all website listings, including mileage accrual.

As yet, we have not completed commercial discussions with UA, which may or may not affect eligible booking classes for accrual on both UA and TG.
We expect these discussions will be completed shortly and any changes that may affect accrual will be reflected at our website immediately.
Until then, the information displayed concerning UA remains valid.

Best regards,
Douglas
