Hello,
I am planning a trip to Rome and the Hotel Oxford, in via Boncompagni, has been suggested as a good place to lay my head.
Has anyone ever stayed at this establishment? If so, may I know your opinions, please?
Sorry, I've no info on the place but I'm posting because I had read good things about a gelateria very close to this hotel and thought you might want to check it out if you stay there.
It's called "I Caruso", and I first read about it on Revealed Rome's blog last June:
The Best Gelato, and Best-Kept Secret, in Rome (http://www.revealedrome.com/2011/06/i-caruso-best-gelato-in-rome-food-secret-gelateria.html)
And then saw it included in Elizabeth Minchilli's blog post:
rome gelato update - june 2011 (http://www.elizabethminchilliinrome.com/2011/06/rome-gelato-update-june-2011.html)
Here are the walking directions from the hotel (http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Via+Boncompagni,+89,+Rome,+Italy&daddr=Via+Collina,+13,+Rome,+Italy&hl=en&sll=41.90797,12.496215&sspn=0.002419,0.005659&geocode=FYR7fwIdWq2-ACk1BpuHCGEvEzEA7nCgmk8JEw%3BFQh3fwIdBLO-AClJkiVJCGEvEzFh_HCgmk8JEw&dirflg=w&mra=ltm&t=m&z=17)
And somewhat close to the property is a restaurant that's been recommended by some on this forum (I went once, in '05 I think, and I basically just remember that it had a really tastey buffet selection):
Il Pomodorino (http://www.ilpomodorino.org/home.htm)

Not the information you were asking for..... but thought I should share some of my zillions of bookmarks!
Hopefully the next reply you receive will address your question. :)
