Luxury Hotels - Recommendation for hotel in Barcelona with family?

Hi,
I will be in Barcelona for two nights at the beginning of July. Trying to pick out a nice hotel for me, wife and two children (4 and 8 years old).
I am struggling to find something that have rooms or suites that has size to accommodate the kids. Even it is with a roll away bed, or sofa bed.
We would like not too far from city center.
Any ideas?
Thanks

We stayed in an executive suite at the Arts Barcelona. While the suite looks like perfect for travel with kids, I have to note that there is no curtains in the living room part, so not possible to put kids to sleep there, unless they are completely insensitive to light during sleep. We quite enjoyed the hotel, in spite of some service weaknesses. The location is a tiny bit outside the real center (no walking distance, but taxies are cheap), is made up for by pool and beach location.

In July the W Barcelona can be fun even if it's not exactly a 'luxury' property.
If you want to be in the city centre best choice is Mandarin Oriental.

A few years I took an apartment for a long weekend through these people http://www.apartmentsapart.com/barcelona_hotels/index.htm, which gets you the space you want albeit with no hotel facilities. Was in a great spot at the top of the Ramblas.

If you want to splash the cash, the apartments at the top of the Arts are excellent for families.
Another vote for the Arts. Good sized rooms, good service. Great pool area for a city. The kids will be comfotable.

I don't think Hotel Arts is what it was. I much prefer MO Barcelona now, with a superb location on Paceig de Grácia, and seconds away from the Gaudi House and Sagrada Familia, plus all the best shops. It is a much more up-scale location than The Arts, which although looking onto the beach is in a very downmarket area full of fast food outlets. MO Barcelona definitely has suites to fit a family of four.

Having stayed in-town and at the Arts I recommend in-town. Barcelona is so much more than a hotel experience. As nice as the Arts is, you really want to be in the heart of the city and get the hell out of your hotel room.

I have to agree with vuittons -- I just stayed at both Arts and MO and the MO is hands down the better of the 2 hotels, from the room product, service and location. Many many excellent restaurants within walking distance of the MO too -- I would highly recommend, Le Petit Comité.

I would just like to add that when I was in Barcelona, the MO was not there yet. Next time I would try the MO as well, it looks wonderful. Just wanted to give you the information about the stay and room we had at the Arts.

Me too, the last time in Barcelona (with kids) MO was not open yet and we stayed at OMM on Paseo de Gracia. Room was large and confortable, service was fine and food was glorious (I think they had some michelin star at their flag restaurant) but i felt kind of out of place as this hotel seems more suitable for fashionable couple and young crowd.
Paseo de Gracia is definitively a place with vibrant atmospere, but expect to find bus of scholarship and organised groups walking up and down at anytime as this place is really pretty much congested with tourism. I can understand some people just want to stay in a bit more discrete place.
