Hyatt Gold Passport - Earning GP points on someone else's reservation

I'll be staying at the HR Columbus, OH in July for a 6 night convention. I've got 3 rooms booked under my reservation, which is what the CSR said is the max rooms I can earn points under on my reservation. But I have a lot of friends at the convention who won't be using any GP number on their reservations. Could they add my number to their reservation and I would earn the points?

3 rooms is the maximum rooms that you can earn from. IMHO, you cannot earn more than that ;)

However, if you are in a group in a hotel restaurant or bar, you could try charging the bill to your room and having the others pay you.
