Until September 30th, 2012(application date / Japan time) : 20,000miles = JPY30,000 worth of JAL COUPONs (JPY5,000 × 6 JAL COUPONs)

After October 1st, 2012(application date / Japan time) : 10,000miles = JPY12,000 worth of JAL COUPONs (JPY2,000 × 6 JAL COUPONs)

The usability of JAL COUPONs will increase through the coupon value change to JPY2,000.

Yet another devaluation of JMB program :( They claim this increases usability of the coupon but "forgot" to point out now you only get 1.2 JPY per mile instead of 1.5 JPY per mile.

Personally, I have never spent my miles on JAL coupons as I find upgrade awards and award flights more valuable. But for those who did, do you think it's an improvement?

It's never occurred to me to use my valuable JMB miles on something like coupons. Upgrades are the only way to go.^

Same here. But I can see how this is valuable if you don't have enough miles and your miles are expiring though. Especially if you don't live in Japan, this might be the only way to go. I like the new lifestyle award options in Japan which only costs 2,000 JMB miles. Those give those not so frequent travelers more options.
