Folks,
I am delighted to announce the appointment of SPBanker and NoWindowSeat as our Forum Ambassadors for the Finnair Plus Forum.
SPBanker is Helsinki based, and while a relative newbie to FT, he possess an in-depth knowledge of the Finnair Plus program, maintaining Plat status. He's doing a mix of premium long-haul and short haul flights and Finnair is his primary carrier.
NoWindowSeat is also Helsinki based and also maintains elite status within the Finnair Program. He's been on FT since 2003 and not only does he have exceptional knowledge of Finnair, he also maintains Gold status on BA, flies AA and is familiar with the Skyteam alliance.
Both members bring a wealth of experience to the board and I am delighted that they have both accepted our invitation to become Ambassadors.
The role of an Ambassador is to provide new members a welcoming hand to enquiries, to provide guidance and assistance on program updates/changes and to assist with the overall management of the forum.
Please join me in welcoming SPBanker and NoWindowSeat to their new roles...
Regards
SIMON

Welcome, tervetuloa.
Thanks, kiitos, tack så mycket.
I had a talk yesterday with Simon about some things that could be done re: Finnair board, in addition to the excellent discussions we already have here. One of them is greater direct interaction with AY, let's see how that plays out.

Welcome, tervetuloa.
Thanks from my side also. Like SPBanker I'm also looking forward if we could possibly develop relationship between AY Plus and FT via our international Ambassodor team led my eightblack. That would certainly take this forum to another level if AY were actively involved with the discussions. They have tried it but really haven't produced much yet.

Tervetuloa!
Interaction with AY would be very much appreciated. But if it remains on the level of their blogs etc, then it's of course worth nothing, just like AY rep in the past. We know where to find those press releases and we could very well be writing those auto-replies ourselves. No need to bother the company with that.
So, in order for an AY rep to be useful, this would mean that you ambassadors would have to very specifically go through the expectations that FT members have so AY understands them. And after truly understanding what FT is about, I'm not quite sure that AY is willing to participate. :(

Details of the renumeration package (signing bonus, stock options, severance pay etc.) shall remain confidential at least until 2014, when they will be mailed to Helsingin Sanomat in an anonymous letter. :p

Obviously that will be the biggest challenge. And while we are on the topic, what are the expectations of FT members? What do we want from a possible AY participation in this board? Posting press releases obviously is not sufficient. (At least on Finnair FB there are occasional real replies.)
In some hotel chain boards the company reps are at least able to answer questions regarding the program, promos etc. On the other hand, many of the more busy boards also have lots of newbies. My general feeling is that most of the active people on this board are very well aware of the ins and outs of AY+ program and things related to it. Sometimes the company reps also are able to explain why some things are the way they are.
FT members as a sounding board for different ideas? No commitment from AY, just getting some feedback on various alternatives? I mean, people here fly a lot, on different companies, they know what's what. Is this too ambitious?
