I am considering the following itinerary for a group of anywhere between 10-25 people. I would like to know if anyone has experience with Lima -- ease of changing planes, gates, any issues with customs, bags, etc. All are US passport holders. If LIM is not a good connecting city, any suggestions on what would be? In fact, we don't even have to use LAN but I figured that was the best option so far. Since it's a big group there are many options to explore with the airline itself but for the sake of just learning about the flights and connections themselves, pretend this is just for one person too.

Thanks!

I have some experience :p

IMHO for sure, connect at LIM it is a modernized award winning airport... And quite used to groups of 25 and more... It will fulfill your needs.

I agree with bingocallerb22. The LIM airport is one of S. America's most modern and efficient (but you should have seen it 20 or so years ago).

It is also basically LAN's South America hub, since all the LAX flights, most JFK flights, etc. use it for connections.

You'll get off the plane, down the stairs, and prior to arrivals immigration, back up the stairs to pass through the "In Transit" security. Shouldn't take more than 15 minutes once you disembark and you will be back airside on to your GRU gate.
