Please refer the situation mentioned below and appreciate any help.
A pregnant lady is traveling alone from DXB to BOM with a return ticket. She will be returning after few months after her delivery.
1. Is there any option to add the infant also with her return ticket?
2. If possible is it possible from the GDS of the ticket issuing agency?
3. If possible, how?
4. If the above won't work, since infant cannot be ticketed alone, what will be the workaround for this case?

You can add an infant for one sector only, a TA should be able to manage, if not the airline can help. Be prepared to purchase a ticket costing 10% of the one way fare in the cabin that the parent will travel in.

Just curious... what would be the paperwork for an infant? I mean passport and visa? If both (or one of) the parents have Indian passport?

Thanks all for the information. But as per the policy of GDS, infant cannot be ticketed alone. Anybody knows any workaround for this?

Once the infant is there, the TA can add it to the parents PNR and issue a ticket based just on the segments remaining. See my post #5 here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/star-alliance/1278905-one-roundtrip-infant-fare-accompany-two-one-way-adult-award-tickets.html
