LAN LANPASS - Business flight downgraded to economy!

Just seen that my flight from Buenos Aires to Santiago to connect to flight back to Sydney has been changed from business to economy. I thought Lan had some sort of Premium economy?

They do - are you on an award, or paid? It seems like when they do this (it has happened twice to me this year, on the same itinerary, booked via a partner) it dumps right back into Economy when they change the aircraft. Chances are good that there's a plane with Business (if you originally were in business) departing around the same time. Call to see and they can change the reservation.

Paid! Trying to get travel agent to change but she is having troubles getting anything done with Lan!

Same thing happened to me two years ago. They switched their equipment on the SCL-LIM leg of a SCL-LIM-JFK from B767 to A320 and they want to put me in coach on the first leg of the trip since there were not enough seat in business. I can't believe they would do this on a paid J ticket and I was not the only one they were trying to screw. Luckily I arrived at the airport with plenty of time to argue with the agent that the supervisor found a J seat for me on another LIM flight.

being downgraded on the 1,5 hour flight EZE-SCL is the best thing to happen. a friend of mine received a compensation voucher of over 600US$ iirc.
