Status matched last dec to gold. So far I have 26 stays and 35 nights in 2012. I will get there based on the number of stays. Stays are mostly in Ontario, Canada.
1. I realize there are rollover nights towards next years status. Does this include stays as well. I will be well over for the number of stays, but not sure if I will get to or go over by much, the 75 night requirement.
2. I think I will be entitled to breakfast. Lately i have been upgraded to business rooms and floors, which entitle me to go to the lounge on that floor for a continental breakfast. Some properties also have a full service restaurant. Which breakfast will i be entitled to?
Thanks for your advice

1. It is based on number of nights, not stays.
2. Some hotels don't even know Concierge members get free breakfast, so make sure to ask. It really depends on the hotel, but you get a full continental breakfast. (usually lounge unless they don't have one, then at the restaurant)

I have CC Concierge benefits printed out in case the hotel is unaware of the benefits.

thanks for the advice. It is amazing that the some hotels do not have any idea on what they should be providing.
So, if the hotel doesn't offer you breakfast, you just pay for it, then contact CC. They will refund you the cost of the breakfast?

yes. it is.
I have several times that the hotel said I must have to pay.
So to avoid arguments, I paid.
After that I claimed this to clubcarlson by mail and within days the hotels called and say sorry and refund the money back.

I'd hate to pay and then try to claim it later from CC. I wonder if they can just call CC right there and then and seek clarification.

The free breakfast for Concierge members, is this only for the cardholder or also for the second person in a double room?

I've never had problems getting it for both. My experience is that the benefit is valid for both in the room.

I've just contacted the concierge desk for tomorrows stay at the Grafton in London. They will contact hotel, advise a VIP client is arriving, request an upgrade, high floor and decent room.
I'll see what happens as I've been given some shabby rooms lately as a concierge.
fingers crossed...

Have mixed experiences. Recently stayed at the May Fair in London, did not get an upgrade, but not a problem as most rooms there are very nice anyway. No welcome note or anything, not even a botle of water. Made sure to ask the receptionist about the free breakfast and she confirmed. At check out I was told the cost of the breakfast and that I did not have to pay. A few weeks later I notice a charge on my account and called the hotel. I was told it was for breakfast. I wrote them an e-mail reffering to their benefits. I got a refund soon after. What upset me the most is that they charged my card without me signing anything or entering my pin, after I was told I did not have to pay. Not good. :td:
Stayed at the Raddisson Plaza in Oslo this week. Got upgraded to a business class room, but no welcome note. Breakfast is complimentary for all guests at the hotel.
Staying at the Raddisson Blu Polar at Longyearbyen next week. Will be interesting to see if the overall experience is any better.

Would like to know what Spitsbergen is like, I really want to go there one day. You'll get a free breakfast, breakfasts are always free in Scandinavian hotels.

So i did get to concierge.
1st stay at Radisson toronto mississauga Airport. Upgraded to a business room(which has been usual at this hotel)
No lounge here. received a full breakfast buffet. CS says that whoever is staying in room gets breakfast, including those in other rooms booked under my name. No breakfast if i booked using points
Current stay at Radisson Toronto East. Upgraded to nice King room. Received voucher for full breakfast.
Happy sofar. Hotels classify concierge as G4. Gold is G3

it doesn;t matter that booking was point or not.
"As a concierge member you should be receiving free continental
breakfast. It is only for you though and not your wife. Even if it is
points plus cash it is still free.
I will file a formal issue with the hotel to advise them of the rules."
