Can the Qatar team tell me if Privilege Club members are recoginised on board has members when they are holding an award ticket. I wasn't and wondered if this is a one off rather than the norm? On a paid ticket I have been addressed by my name, welcomed on board and asked for my meal preference on all my QR flights.
I would assume NOT. I flew today with QR MNL-DOH as a Gold, and in MNL in the Lounge I could clearly see that I was the only Gold on the list. In-flight they announce to all pax that they extend a warm welcome to all Gold and Silver pax onboard, but then not even a "Hello" or "Would you like an extra blanket, given that you are sitting next to emergency exit door and it will be freezing cold overnight?".
QR will know you are Gold on-board, but don't expect any recognition.

Can't confirm that. 12 flights as Gold in revenue eco so far this year - only got recognition ONE time. And no op ups on the four flights that were full...... But I guess I got what I payed for?

October last year. FRA-DOH. C cabin packed with op-ups. The guy next to me (Grrrr, I want Mr. Nobody!!!) never ever flew QR nor business class at all. It was his first flight with QR and he got an upgrade.
Don't get me wrong. He was very nice and excited about the experience.
There were some other issues on that flight and now on top the BKK flights (my connections) turn out to get a mini C cabin. So no Mr. Nobody anymore.
Know what? I switched to Y next time. There seems allways to be more space....or just my bad luck.
Back to OP:
In the PNR and on the flight manifest, the PC nbr. is appendix with "/3" for Burgundy. So all staff can see the status.
