Oceania (Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific) - HH or PC reward nights to book in SYD, MEL, CNS

I am traveling to SYD, MEL, and CNS for my honeymoon, but we are on a tight budget. So, I am looking to get the best experience and best use of my points with HH or PC in SYD, MEL, and CNS. I have looked at the hotels on their websites and read some reviews on tripadvisor.com, but I have received very good help from this forum. Can someone suggest hotels in these cities that are the best bang for the buck? Can I expect free breakfast and internet with my top level status in both HH and PC?

Not sure what hotels PC covers, but the main Hilton in SYD and MEL are good properties and probably count as best use of your points. No idea about the status benefits, presumably these are chain-wide, but I dont stay at Hilton; there are much better hotels available in both cities. As for free internet access, available at every McD and lots of cafes (some limit to 30 min, some filter content, but lots of free wifi is easily found in SYD and MEL. For tight budget, you've come to the wrong country ... Australia is priced much higher than much of the world, for a tight budget go to Bali, Malaysia, HKG, etc. Not cheap but worth it, however the one tip is that $10 meals at pubs (called "hotels") are often surprisingly good (unlike pub meals in the US which tend to be dismal).
