All Nippon Airways Mileage Club - How does ANA Determine Round-The-World Valid Routings

Hello,

I am curious for a Star Alliance Award ticket, how does ANA determine a "Round-The-World" routing? For example, I know that the following would be a round-the-world:
EZE - FRA - IST - DEL - BKK - SYD - LAX - IAH - EZE

But what about?

EZE - FRA - IST - DEL - BKK - SYD // Open Jaw // SCL - EZE?

Also, I tried to price out points for the following booking, and the website said it was considered a round-the-world:

HKG - IST - LED - FRA - EZE // open jaw // BKK - HKG
Thanks,

Beofotch

ANA's rules about RTW award tickets are located here:

http://www.ana.co.jp/wws/japan/e/asw_common/amc/reference/tukau/teikeiair_1_2.html

Since you are crossing both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans in both cases (even if they are surface segments), it is considered a RTW itinerary.

I was recently checking award tickets between the US and India, using the UA nonstops between EWR and BOM/DEL, but ANA refused to price any of the available itineraries, claiming that I was trying to cross both oceans and would therefore have to book a RTW.

Ah well, I guess their website can't get it right all the time.

When I plugged the below into the website, it told me that I had more than 4 stops and was invalid (even though it should be an around the world with 8 stops)

EZE - FRA - IST - DEL - BKK - SYD // Open Jaw // SCL - EZE
