China - Air China Business Lounge
Hi,
I'm travelling on the BA flight on Thursday to LHR and on checking BA MMB, it says I can use the lounge adjacent to Gate 19.
I would like to know if this is the lounge that's close to the boarding gate for the BA flight to LHR and if a) breakfast is served there (my flight leaves at 11.15am) and b) if there is a smoking area? If not, is there a lounge that has a smoking area?
I have only flown once out of PEK and used the AC lounge by the Duty Free area and this time I'm flying solo so would prefer to be closer to the gate if possible.
Many thanks for any helpful advice.

Lady: You should optimize your airport arrival time in a manner that makes lounges irrelevant; show up at t-90 minutes, and you'll be fine.

CA lounges at PEK are nice.
Practically empty
Free decent liquor
Smoking Room
Electric Cart to gate.
Why pass up the opportunity to
get a buzz going before a long flight.:)

Lady lives in Central Park, which is leaps and bounds nicer than the CA lounge at PEK T3.

Ok, thanks but is the smoking room at the lounge by Duty Free or at the one by Gate 19? Or is it elsewhere?
One other thing confuses me though, I recall my lighter being taken off me when I went through security at PEK last December, if that happens again, how am I able to make use of the smoking room???
Moondog: Agree with CP being far nicer but I'm nervous about doing this trip solo - first time in about 20 years I've flown alone - so plan to get to the airport nice & early :p

Good point about matches and lighters, which chinese security are obsessive about -- I don't smoke -- but like to collect match books from restaurants (a dying hobby), and had a big haul of them taken from me on my first trip back from China.
I presume therefore that the lounges have some 'lighting apparatus'. I think that either of the CA lounges has a smoking room from recollection.
I've however never been offered or availed myself of the electric cart to the gate: either I look to agile, or too poor!

Thanks TB, really appreciate it.
It seems odd to me to have a smoking lounge at an airport which takes your lighting apparatus off you at security, so it does make sense to think there may be lighting apparatus in the lounge - perhaps they put out all the lighters that are taken off passengers :D
Will have a look when I get there tomorrow, if I luck out then I have a pack of nicotine gum that I bought for LHR.
Oh and I won't be using the cart either, I have a pair of legs that work perfectly and the exercise will do me good!

There are various smoking lounges scattered around.
CA has them in their lounges. Not sure about BGS and CX lounges...
but likely there also.
The light sources are either coil plug type or regular butane locked in
A fixture.
I believe the electric carts are comp for CA FC passengers and around 20-30 y for others. Gates can be quite far away so the carts are functional if carrying a lot of stuff. If you have F or C tickets you can cruise right up to boarding gate and by pass line...VIP style.
Ok, found the smoking lounge by Gate 19. There are car type lighters fixed to a container by the door.
Thanks for the help, much appreciated.
