Which is the better overall choice in terms of seat/bed comfort, service, and food/amenity?

Seat/Bed comfort, service and food/amenity?

If you ask in the NH forum, then NH
If you ask in the SQ forum, then SQ

Both I've heard are amazing, and I can be sure that SQ would be an amazing experience, but you may want to consider other factors, such as SQ leaves later from LAX, and possibly NH may have more than one flight a day to LAX. With SQ however you get the 380

NH only has one flight a day from NRT to LAX; there's another from HND to LAX but it has the older C seats.

I would go with either of them, to be honest. If you've never traveled on NH's new business product it might be worth trying for a change of pace.

Having flown both several times during the past few months, I must say that SQ is still slightly better in equipment (A380 vs. B773), seat pitch, and seat width. But don't get me wrong, NH's new business class is a great product as well. It's even more private than SQ's A380 seat. Well, you just can't go wrong with either choice.

Seats: I suspect it's a draw, though I've only flown on the SQ A380 (not NH's newest 77W). I was actually slightly disappointed in the SQ seat because I thought the bed was uncomfortable -- lumpy, hard, and too narrow in the footspace (my feet felt scrunched).

Food: NH by a mile. I saw the SQ menu for NRT-LAX when I flew the SIN-NRT segment of that flight. The SQ menu does not even compare. NH has far more choices, and they let you order anything off the menu at anytime during the flight.

Entertainment: SQ by a mile. Far more choices than NH.

Service: I think NH's flight attendants are more professional and consistent than SQ's.

This month I've flown on both SQ's A380 and NH's 77W, both in biz.

Overall the seat I prefer the SQ A380.
Although both seats have limited space for the feet, SQ's seat is much wider.
The aircraft itself is much quiter as well.

Food-wise, catering ex-NRT has a reputation for being the best in the world (for any airline). SQ has a better drinks menu in my opinion.

Amenity: both airlines are pretty poor. Neither offer any "real" amenity kit with a bag.
.
NH do offer some eye masks, earplugs, toothbrush, mouthwash, handcream, slippers, aroma cards but are all offered in a basket.
SQ offer socks+ eyemasks. Toothbrush and razor provided in the restrooms along with L'Occitane eau de toilette.

SQ FAs are way funnier though! They've got a great sense of humor of you get to know them and they always seem to have a great story to tell you. Some of them even whip out their iPads to show you their latest adventures. NH flight attendants are a little too professional. I believe there should be a balance.

Just avoid HND-LAX and you'll be fine. Had a terrible time trying to sleep on the angled lie-flats on the 772s. Everything else was fine. Good food, good lounges, good service.

I prefer NH (new C) to SQ (380). Yes, SQ's seat is wider (very), but I like NH's more private seat for sleeping and service including their food options/flexibility (anytime you want).

You also get to use NH arrival lounge for shower at NRT.

As previously mentioned, amenity kits are both nothing special...

Agreed! SQ has better entertainment, and food (unless you want Japanese), but ANA wins in service, the seat is a toss up depending on what you want, it depends on your preference.

Well may I ask how many SQ segments have you flown ?

Those you described are like 1 in 50 or maybe 1 in 100, the majority of SQ FA are robotic, they only do what they are told to do, they don't do beyond the book, anything else they said they have to ask ISM for permission for a simple request.
