Upgrades following normal process impossible through the website Air France...
Their web site is a disaster for 2 months !!
Anyway, after selecting my reservation CDG-BOS I was able to clic on "request an upgrade" and it proposed me an upgrade to Premium with 18 000 Miles. I have 1.8 milion miles and after 3 years without being able to get any free or Miles upgrade I was happy to process it... opps. It crashed. Web site was not able to finalyze process... I called immediatly FlyingBlue to finnalyze and they told me that it is not possible to request any upgrades online ?! And secondly the quota for upgrades on this flight was over... As usual !!

Sorry to hear that your experience has been so frustrating. I rarely buy tickets in upgradeable classes, but on the few occasions that I have, and wished to upgrade, I was always (eventually) able to book the upgrades over the phone.

Depending on how far in the future your flight is, they may make additional upgrade award space available, if there are unsold seats in the next cabin up, shortly before departure.

(Just wondering, though, why you didn't just book travel as a pure Award redemption in the cabin of your choice, especially when you are sitting on such a huge amount of miles).

I know that as FB Platinum I can find all awards flights that I would like...
even for tomorrow or for the flight that am planning next week.
This was not my point.
I have already an economy ticket which is supose to be upgradable and I was just sharing the way it is going... and how it is impossible to upgrade.
If you have another way share it ?

Seems like you then travel almost only high traffic destinations. I've had 6 award tickets last year for JFK, SFO, CUR for instance. You can look up "O" availability maybe before you purchase the economy ticket. This way you can sort of choose a flight that has availability.

I think that the OP complains primarily about the booking website and the difficulty encountered to book an upgrade online.

Definitely. The new website is full of bugs. It crashes all the time, specially when regarding the booking engine, would it be for paying tickets or award ones.

My guess: company pays ticket.

My guess: company pays ticket.

Looks likely.

Way around is to buy the ticket oneself and expense it (but some companies would not allow that, right?) and then get refund.

Buy Flex ticket in miles.

Upgrades of full economy tickets paied by my company are impossible to upgrade with my Miles through the website Air France...

And you are right it is for sure mainly due to the new web site that Air France did and which is a real disaster.

And we are not allowed to buy flight tickets. Amex Travel do it for us on Company account...

Call FB then.

If your fare allows it and seats are available, they will do it for you.

Call FB then.

If your fare allows it and seats are available, they will do it for you.

The purpose of a corporate contract is that the company gets discounts (FIRM) on full fare, so there is no way that one can buy the ticket himself. it has to be bought by the company in most cases.

Have you tried to upgrade a FIRM ticket by calling FB yourself? or is it an educated guess?
