Other Asian, Australian and South Pacific Frequent Flyer Programs - Baggage Rules on Malaysia Airlines (ex-USA from another airline)

Hi,

I originated my United Airlines flight from USA (2 bag baggage system) to Melbourne- stopover in Melbourne for a couple of weeks.

Now, I am travelling to Malaysia on Malaysia Airlines and it seems MEL-KUL only allows 20kg (weight baggage system).

Could I show proof of my return tickets - ie. back to USA and have both my bags checked in on Malaysia Airlines?

You will only get your allowance if you bought the entire ticket together.. but not as seperate tickets.

You may *try* to do that at the airport with the MH counter agents, but they may refuse and they have every right to with reasons as above.. they are under no obligation to honor your allowance.

You'll just have to pack light for this sector that's all.
