Currently seeing 4/30, 5/1, and 5/3. Overnight required. Routings thru LAX or SFO get you to less than 5 cents per PQM. Not great to be sure; but worth the post if someone can use it. And for those who feel the need - flame away... ;)

Found $270 out of Newark. Doesn't seem to be too scarce.

Taking a quick look seems to be a lot of availability through April and May. G fare.

There are some nice possible routings for this one. Seems good avail for LGA-IAD-LAX-TUS

I also found some avail for LGA-IAH-SFO-TUS with the return being TUS-SFO-SNA-IAH-LGA 5/4 return 5/5 for $280ai for 7,788 miles comes out to 3.9cpm.

Matrix shows that routing on those dates for $608. Maybe its gone already?

Try typing in matrix
Outbound NYC
Routing codes: IAH SFO

Destination: TUS
Routing codes: SFO IAH

For the return it adds the SNA leg and total comes to $280

If you need any help send me a PM and we'll take a look at it

Doesn't totally fit in with this, but Delta has Tus-Ewr for $111, one-way.

Looks like it's fairly available, with a standard routing (Atl). Flight arrives in NY around midnight, so probably o/n required if heading in that direction.

Ah, that helped. I was forcing the SNA segment in the routing which bumped up the price. I'm pissed that my scheduling won't permit me to do this run. 2 of these will get me to *G... :( EDIT: I can actually do one on 5/15-16, but I can't figure out how to book it. I'm a noob at united.com, so can someone hold my hand w/ this? Thanks.

Go into united.com and do a Multiple Destination search.
LGA-IAH 5/15
IAH-TUS 5/15
TUS-SFO 5/16
SFO-IAH 5/16
IAH-EWR 5/16

When you get to the second segment IAH-TUS scroll down towards the bottom. It shows an option to connect through LAX (ie IAH-LAX-TUS) Not quite as good as the SFO option, but still better than IAH-TUS

All in comes to $297 and a little over 7,000 miles

I just booked one of these: EWR-IAH-TUS-LAX-EWR for $287. All in one day.

And I upgraded the whole itinerary with one regional upgrade!

Very nice! How did they let you upgrade the entire PNR on a single CR1? Either way glad to hear it worked. Have fun in TUS some excellent Mexican food down there if you're into spicy

Thanks! Still looking at this, although the 2pm arrival into TUS increases costs (food, overnight) as compared to the 5 hours I would have spent sleeping in the TUS terminal on the SFO/SNA intinerary, up to >4.2cpm. Still, thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it.

I'll be in TUS for just 30 minutes!!! Enough time to run from one gate to another.

If it's an RJ, it'll probably be the same aircraft...

Interesting conjecture, but apparently not true in this case. According to united.com, the inbound aircraft is a CRJ-700 with a first-class cabin, but the outbound aircraft is a CRJ-200 without a first-class cabin.

be careful about misconnects; wouldn't want to be stuck in TUS. Although, you might be able to see if they can put you on US back to PHX; they have frequent ~every 2 1/2 hours, I believe~ flights.

Without having tried it, you can try booking it as a multicity itinerary and either list every connection or every other connection. I've done this on Orbitz and Expedia in the past, too.

i did not book it for myself. after matrix went to .bomb. multi city and got to "enter" payment page. i believe that i was told it was also bookable on orbitz (but i didnt confirm it)

Kayak also has a fair decent tool to lay out multi-city itineraries. Then it will usually transfer you to .bomb or one of the other engines to book. I've done it a few times with fairly good success
