JetBlue TrueBlue - What if service starts in a city closer to you after buying tickets...

Greetings,
My wife and I haven't flown JB s of yet. We are considering buying tickets for an upcoming vacation. As everyone knows, JB serves BOS. JB may or may not start serving PVD in the near future. PVD is 15 minutes from our house. BOS is 75 minutes.
Question, if I bought tickets on JB for service from BOS to FLL (as an example) and then JB started service from PVD to FLL, could I switch tickets without an additional cost? I believe the answer would be no. That said, maybe you folks may know different.

I believe you. :-:
If there is also a schedule change on the BOS-FLL flight you might be able to use that to your advantage to switch, but otherwise I'd bet heavily against it.

They can allow comp switches between JFK and LGA, and SFO and OAK- your situation might be one that is capable of a similar accommodation, though likely it might not happen like that.
In any event, when and if they announce a new airport, it's usually a few months before flights actually begin- so I wouldn't worry all -too- much about it.
Book Southwest! :) No change fees ever.

If JB does go there, who knows if it will connect to BOS or JFK, and who knows what schedule it will be on. I wouldn't count on it working for your trip.

I'm pretty sure that PVD service, if it happens, won't connect through BOS.

I think if PVD happens at the very least we will see FLL/MCO service.

If PVD happens, it should follow the same plan they used for Hartford (BDL). They will begin with MCO and FLL. If these flights work, they will then look into adding single daily flights to other warm weather cities such as PBI and RSW that are popular out of BOS.
A side benefit from opening PVD is that it could free up some gate capacity in BOS (which relieves a potential problem until United moves out of Terminal C).

You know what, this solution may sound too simple, but worth a try. (This is only the opinion of a USAir agent here...) Why don't you give B6 reservations a call, and kindly request a comp rebook, just for that out/inbound segment. I'll tell you my reasoning behind this; many of you may be aware of our slot swap with Delta coming into effect, and our new route service starting from DCA. Well, I have been checking the loads every day at work on these new routes, and since they are NEW, I have not seen a single route booked over 30% cap. For example, our new DCA-OMA route max booking was 3F/15Y on a E170 (68 Cap); and our DCA-SAN was EMPTY; and our DCA-FAY was at 3 (50Y Cap, CRJ200). If the jetBlue agent has an ounce of brain matter, and wants to think like a real airline, they should have no problem rebooking you for out of the new city (unless the loads do not permit it). This will allow the old departure city to become lighter with their loads (probably more at capacity). Us good agents in the airlines are always trying to play the chess game between the carriers to alleviate high load factors, recurrent delays, (that gut feeling...).

We can waive all fees... Question is, do you deserve it?
