Can someone please help me figure out what is the cheapest way to get to Okinawa from Tokyo? I'm ok to travel to another airport if necessary.

I'm looking to go Mid July, and so far the prices are pretty much 1k. No way it's that expensive!

Please help!

If you are flying in to Japan on a Star Alliance or One World carrier, you can get a visit Japan fare of around $110 per domestic flight, valid on most flights although maybe not at peak times (mid July should not be a peak time). You have to buy the ticket outside of Japan before you arrive. If you flew in on Star Alliance, you use ANA; for One World use JAL.

Even if you aren't eligible there is a visit Japan ticket you can buy if you get at least two segments that isn't much more expensive.

For Japanese, Okinawa fares really can get high because it is viewed as competition to places like Hawaii.

Hitchhike to Kagoshima or Shibushi and take the ferry!

Package tours to Guam or Saipan are usually much cheaper than those to Okinawa.

Solaseed offer 10,000Y tickets to any foreign traveller, but only bought on the day of departure. You'll have to connect, so you are looking at 20,000Y.

Skymark can should be the cheapest, and they fly right to HND and NRT. You might be able to get flights for around 7000Y if you are lucky
