NU.nl (http://www.nu.nl/economie/2770647/air-france-wil-prijsvechter-oprichten-.html) reports based on a La Tribune article (http://www.latribune.fr/entreprises-finance/services/transport-logistique/20120322trib000689826/la-tentation-low-cost-d-air-france-.html) that AF considers to found a new low cost carrier. Current affiliated airline Transavia (Holland/France?) should form the base for the new carrier. It will have a new name though.
AF has a loss on most SH and MH flights and this new LCC should make them more profitable.

"Two possibilities are being considered, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the discussions are private. One would see the development of Transavia, a Dutch subsidiary which has low-cost and charter services. "
