Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus - Possibly ridiculous question re. BKK F lounge

I'm flying BKK-NRT in F tomorrow. I won't have time to have anything pressed before then and the jacket I need to wear immediately post-landing is horribly wrinkled. If I am at the airport 3 or so hours before my flight, any chance they could get it pressed for me?

Don't think so. Massage yes. Pressing? No.

Why don't you get it done by the hotel you're staying at ?

For reasons I can't understand, they said they can't do it sameday. I explained this is pressing not dry cleaning but who knows.

Whereever you are staying in BKK there should be at least 300 Tailors of the Year within immediate vicinity . Maybe they could do something useful once in their career and if it is only pressing something .

very simple solution. In the washroom, of your hotel, turn on the hot water, hang your jacked on a hangar and shut the washroom door, it works every time. the steam will iron out any wrinkles.

I've heard this millions of times, but it never seems to work for me in practice. No matter, I shall manage to soldier on in a wrinkled jacket.

I know - I tried it , too! Perhaps it's material-specific. Or temperature specific....

But the ironing board and iron (standard in IC hotels, at least), could come in handy .... and you could learn a new skill :)

The wrinkles were not as bad as i'd feared, however the water went out in the concourse (thankfully came on at the 11th hour), but I nearly had to go without a shower after my massage. Would not have enjoyed 6 hours of oiled up flying.

Hang up your items in the bathroom while you shower, and keep the hot water/steam coming for a few minutes afterwards. While it might not look professionally done, it will always look better than before.

alternatively, ask the hotel for an iron. It usually has a steam function. Setting the iron to its lowest to generate steam, you can steam out any major creases (holding the iron very close to, but not touching the fabric)

Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

When I have an oil massage at TG spa, I ask for a room with a jacuzzi. They have fantastic tubs - deep and fillable to overflowing, with jacuzzi function, and coloured lighting. I ask them to fill the tub during the massage and hop in to remove the oil after the massage, with the room lights off, and the changing colours within the tub. Massage and bath. What a perfect way to get clean and relaxed before a flight.
