I've seen conflicting information. For a trans-atlantic trip Y, can one select a seat at booking? I'm *A Silver (but would also like to know the answer for non-status and *A Gold).

For *A gold you can phone up after booking and select a seat, including preferred seats (bulkheads etc.).

Does that mean that *A Silver and below can't get advance seat assignments?
