Hi,

Unfortunetly - this is correct. The flyby has been cancelled due to financial reasons.

We are saddened by it as well, but as I've said - it was cancelled due to financial reasons and in consideration of priorities. We all hope the flyby will return next year. :)

Best,
Liat

I would think the govt would pay the costs.

LY is a publicly traded company - not a government-controlled company. The fly-by is a pure promotion done by LY, paid for by themselves. If AA or US decided to do a July 4 fly-by, would the US government pay for it?

I presumed this was a govt sponsored event. Being a small country and LY one of its symbols, I thought the govt would cover the costs.

Nope - LY indeed is a symbol of Israel, but not officially. They used to be government-controlled, but no longer. This is a private-paid for event (by LY)
