I found this award chart (http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/fcpartners/airlines/virginamerica.jsp?bfSubmit1.y=5&bfSubmit1.x=24) for redemptions on Virgin America. Does anyone have any idea about fees?
The award examples all seem to be single segment flights. We only have SAN-SFO from San Diego. If I want to fly to NYC, do I have to add the points values given for SAN-SFO RT to SFO-JFK RT?
I found this chart (http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/fcpartners/airlines/vaustralia.jsp?bfSubmit1.y=6&bfSubmit1.x=22) for Virgin Australia. Does anyone have any idea about fees?
Is it possible to book one way awards, or are only RT available?
is there any way to check availability online? I only found this remark:
Spending miles:
Please contact your local Flying Club helpline to check availability and to make a booking.

I'm interested in this as well. I've seen lots on how to spend Virgin American miles on Virgin Australia, but not Virgin Atlantic on Virgin Australia..... I'm hoping the 80K + $850 in surcharges is still the case for roundtrip in business. All I can find is Virgin Atlantic trying to route me through London (I want LAX-SYD) for 300k miles.

On the very bottom of the VS page you linked, in the terms, under 'Spending Miles,' it states, "No one way rewards permitted." Bummer. :(
I'm very curious how this plays out as well. In particular, I'm wondering if routings are allowed that are not specifically listed on that page and, if so, how they are priced. As an example, SAN-SEA via SFO.
Is VS pricing by segment, a la the new BA Avios approach? Or would such a ticket be viewed as SAN-SEA for mileage pricing purposes.
I also find it curious that on the VS USA website (http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/us/frequentflyer/fcpartners/airlines/virginamerica.jsp?bfSubmit1.y=11&bfSubmit1.x=25), there are no details as to routes and required miles for redemption tickets. Perhaps they don't want to encourage US-based passengers to take advantage of this redemption option? Or more of an oversight?
