Germany - Two days in Dresden, Two days in Hamburg

Various reasons take me to Dresden and Hamburg. 2-3 days in each. Suggestions on things to see? More of a walker and visitor to museums than night life.

In Dresden, you may want to secure tickets (http://www.skd.museum/en/visitor-service/tickets/index.html) for the Green Vault (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gr%C3%BCnes_Gew%C3%B6lbe) in advance, as it usually fills up and same-day tickets require queuing early.
